    • Developed a novel SARS-CoV2 multiplex detection assay utilizing custom synthesized products to avoid global logistic disruptions, increased testing capacity from 250 samples a day to 1,500 a day with a theoretical limit of 32,000 per day.

    • Performed onsite evaluation of laboratory processes as related to COVID-19 testing, based on needs assessment implemented a capacity strengthening strategy in alignment with USAID and Palladium program directives.

    • In coordination with USAID and Palladium technical team reported to the Honduran Ministry of Health our findings and technical recommendations to help in the COVID-19 response.

    • Increased COVID-19 RT-PCR testing capacity of the Honduras National Virology Laboratory from 800 to 3,000+ samples per day.

    • Developed and executed training workshop to educate laboratory staff on best practices and troubleshooting as related to COVID-19 testing and molecular biology techniques.

    • Developed new LC-MS/MS assay utilizing orthogonal online-SPE sample clean up coupled with hybrid analytical column chemistries in a multiplex set up to develop a 47-analyte assay for toxicology screening and quantification of opiates, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, and custom synthetic drugs.

    • Provided leadership and direction for development team employees, supervising activities to drive productivity and efficiency, resulting in the development, validation, and transfer of 2 new assays in 6 months.

    • Implemented new research method to explore ideal sample clean up and chromatography separation through cheminformatics, saving time in development by identifying ideal extraction and chromatographic chemistries based on target analyte structure.
